Impact loading is the load acting on a body from a certain
specified height before it commences to stretch.

Sudden loading is the load acting on a body suddenly, its
not respect to from which it can be acting.

2)SUDDENLY APPLIED LOADS
EXAMPLE; IF 10 KN IS APPLIED IN INCREMENTS OF SAY, 2KN AT A
TIME UP TO 10KN IT IS GRADUALLY APPLIED LOAD AND THE USUAL
FORMULAS OF STRESS ,STRAIN WILL HOLD GOOD.

APPLIED LOAD AND THE FORMULAS MAY BE ALTERED BY APPLYING
MULTIPLICATION FACTOR

IN STEAD IF THE LOAD IS APPLIED BY DROPPING FROM A CERTAIN
HEIGHT WHICH WILL INDUCE SOME IMPACT(DYNAMIC LOADS)ARE
CALLED IMPACT LOADS AND THE FORMULAS OF STRESS ,STRAIN ARE
ALTERED BY MULTIPLYING WITH IMPACT FACTOR

sudden and impact are somewhat similar words. the only difference is that in sudden load reference point is not considered and in impact load reference is necessary. e.g.person suddenly jump from bike is an example of sudden load. and a person jump from terrace on bike is impact load

here what we need to notice is rate of loading , for static loading rate of loading is lees and for sudden load the rate of loading is high
