Answer / jc

When a man touches a wire , their is path for current to flow to earth surface.

Earth surface is assumed to b of Zero potential , bcoz of its area.

Whereas , when a crow touches wire , their is no flowing path since flowing current doesn't get a lower potential i.e. ground or -ve potential.

if a crow sit on on current wire it will not fell current but a man touch it he get shock . why/ ..

Answer / kishor salunkhe

To have a shock current should complete its path (circuit) i.e. from +ve to -ve or from Phase to neutral. If a man who is standing on a ground i.e earth touches a LIVE (having current) wire he will get shock because the current from the wire has completed its path from the man's body to the ground (ground is neutral or negative). The Current (+ve energy) flows from man's body and enters into earth i.e. ground as such the current completes its path. Therefore a man who is on ground level i.e. who is standing on earth gets shock.

If suppose a man jumps and catches a LIVE (having current) wire in air without any object touching his body he will not get shock because the current which is flowing from his body does not get route to complete its path and so though current is flowing from man's body who is hanging on the LIVE wire does not get shock. But if that man comes in contact with any object which it touches the ground or earth he will get shock because as soon as the man gets into touch with the object the current flowing from his body get its way to complete its path from the object touching the man's body.
The same principal applies to the crow. since the crow is standing on the LIVE wire it does not get shock but if that crow comes into contact with any object the crow will definitely get shock. But unfortunately it does not happen because as soon as the Object (train) comes nearby the crow who is standing on that LIVE wire gets away.
