DOL starter means a Direct On Line starter, where the AC
supply is directly applied across the motor terminals
whenever it is used unlike some bigger motors where the
power supply goes through a starting system to enable a
smoother start or a reduced current start.Some examples are
star delta ,auto transformer starter ,rotor resistance
starter, soft starter etc.

What meant by lagging and leading? When if they are occurred what preventive methods should be taken?
