RIPV2,EIGRP,OSPF.

Static routing, because we first check the A.D value which
is administrative distance. A.D of static is 1 where as rip
having 120, eigrp -90 and ospf- unlimited. We consider the
best route is that who's A.D value lest like static routing.

folks
just jumping in yours conversation. i have seen Lots of
answers for this question some one told static.some one told
rip and soo on
let me ask one thing is the is Ad value have the priority
to select the route from routing table.
ok i think lots of from you is not able to understand what i
am asking. Allow me to give one example
i have one router Say R1.one R1 i have the route
configuration like
R1( config )# ip route 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 fa0/1
R1( config )# router eigrp 109
R1( config-router )# network 192.168.1.0
R1( config )# no auto summry
R1( config )# route ospf 10
R1( config )# network 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 area 0
now tell me which path will router take
i know all of them will say static as it have low Ad value
.and it is right
now one the same router i have configured
R1( config )# ip route 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 fa0/1
R1( config )# router eigrp 109
R1( config-router )# network 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.127
R1( config )# no auto summry
R1( config )# route ospf 10
R1( config )# network 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 area 0
now tell me which route the router take. If again you will
say static then you are wrong.
now it will take Eigrp (;-) ) strange....ok let me expalain
the router will not take any decision on the behalf of ad
value the router will take the route from routing table
which have maximum mask. here eigrp has /25 so it will take
eigrp. get it?
ok
now if some one ask what is the best protocol then you have
to answer it depend on the ORG structure if they have less
the 1 to router in the network the static is good then up to
15 router Rip V1 and V2 is good. But if some one told that i
have more then 100 routers in my network and i have only
cisco devises then i will go Eigrp.ospf is if any only if
they have different vendors routers too.
but if some one ask what is the best routing protcol you
have to say eigrp.
why? due to it DUAL Algo
now what is DUAL algo---refer the book

distance) value is 1. Which one hast the lowest AD value
having High secure as well as best compared to

Friend I saw all answer. I m a CCIE person. I hv taken lots
of interview. 1st understand the qust. Jitendra says eigrp
bekoz router consider logest match. many says static. But
friend its nt qust. that wht router will consider best to
forward packet if its configure with static or diff dynamic
protocols. Qust is simply which is best amongst them so the
answer is
1) If u r network is small and u r router is low resources u
will use static its best for that condition. and
If u r network is huge and Routers are with High Resources u
will use dynamic. So best protocol is depend on in which
condition u r using.

Guys.. AD value is not the only thing which we should kept in our mind where there diffeent protocal are running ..If you have small Network then RIP mostly used ( maximum hop count is 15 ) ... Eigrp is Cisco Proprotery Protocal so we can use this one on cisco routers only.. and If you have large Network then you should use OSPF It divide router in terms of area..use triggered update ( consumes less bandwidth and Processing Power )

Hello friends,
I will say that its depend on your topology, because network
administrator configure routing protocol on the based of his
topology.
Say if you have back to back connection then STATIC is
best, due to less of AD value. It has 1/0 of AD value
But when we will talk about middle organization then we can
say that RIPV1/V2 is best because it has features to work on
different subnet mask, and Trigger update where in static if
any change occur than it will be tough to configure in each
and every router. RIP is based on only for 15 maximum host.
It has 120 of AD value
okay now EIGRP is the best if you are using many routers of
same vendors because it work on DUAL method, means it never
count hop it work on Bandwidth, metric, etc. which has 90 of
Ad value
and OSFF is best when you are using different vendor router
because EIGRP work only on cisco router. so that time OSPF
would be best. which has 110 of AD value.
Someone will says that less AD value protocol is best, but
I'll say that its only to put priority to
different-different routing protocol.
