HI Nwaj
i don't want to misguide you or don't want to show any thing.
but NO the AD value is not the only thing which decide which
is the best routing protocol to take the data OUT.
i know lots of from you are beginner and have the
theoretical concepts.
ok
i don't know which Simulator you have but you have GNS3 then
it will good for understand
do one thing
In GNS3 take two router
say r1 and r2 and configure the route like
on R1-:
static route 192.168.1.0/24
eigrp route 192.1682.0/27
same on the R2
\and let me know router is taking which path for routing
hope it will give clear idea

yeah Vinod
You are right, the folks here are the beginner one that why
they are thinking static is the best one
i am Tier2 engineer in cisco system and one day i was
doing some R$D in my Lab then i come to know that Ad value
is not only the primary determinants to determine which
routing protocol will take to go out side or diffrent
network.
yes the slection of the routing prtocol depends the how
much large the network is but if the network is large and
the invorment is cisco i will go for eigrp ( due to Dual
algo )
Thanks for posting yours view here and think this will help
other beginer.

can say orgainisation's requirement..
Moreover Static Routing is not a protocol..

If a router uses dynamic routing, how does it learn the route to remote networks? The router uses a DHCP request to obtain remote network numbers. The router uses a routing protocol to exchange routing info. with other routers. The router uses DNS request packets to obtain remote network numbers. The Network Administrator manually configures the remote networks.
