we choose the place, where the deflection is zero, i.e at
the point of contra flexure. otherwise it`s leads to collapse

in the design of RCC beam we design it as a crack section neglecting the area of concrete below the neutral axis so we can make a hole in concrete in the area below the neutral axis .
