primary beams are the main beams on which the secondary beams rest in perpendicular direction, the load from the slab is transferred to secondary beams and then to primary and from primary to wall and ultimately to foundation.

which member is very strong (strength) after the cross- section area is same, pipe section or solid rod section ? no that's not my question, my question is why pipe section is strong ?
