accoding to soil classifition different type of soil
different range .1clay- less than0.002 , 2.silt-0.075-
0.002 ,3.sand-0.075-4.75,4.gravel-grater than 4.75-80mm.

we can go with some of the tests like
colour,dilatancy,platicity(thread making),drainage,and by
making a small cube keeping in oven @ 115degree centi's and
testing whether it's getting crumbled or not.
