i have seen a picture of a power plant. in that pic. i saw
chimney like giant structure which were spreading smoke like
something...i want to know is it chimney or cooling towers, as
my friends use to say.

In thermal power plant there are two types of chimeny one for smoke emission and other is cooling tower. Cooling tower are hyperbolic in shape its diameter at pond is about 70 mts and diameter at the top is about 42 mts, . cooling tower are very lager as compare to smoke emission chimney in power plant.
