Search with the keyword, steps to reproduce in the bug
tracking tool to confirm that bug is duplicate.
don't open the duplicate bug instead reopen the bug if that
is closed.

The test engineer can send the bug to developer.if the bug
is repeated one, then developer can change the status from
NEW to DUPLICATE

As a test engineer you can't afford to send duplicate
bugs.when you catch a bug(for example when you click on
sales link it is going to purchase page)you have to search
whether the bug is duplicate or not.there is search option
provided for this use.when you search you will come to know
whether the bug is duplicate or not
