How to measure 20 hp motor resitance
Answer / k.prakashchandra
If coil ends ( star-delta) are freely available you can
measure easily. If not (the primary windings are in delta )
,measure resistance across any two terminals and multiply by
1.5 to get the resistance of each winding ,which is the same
for the other two, for a healthy motor. If measurements are
done to trace the short circuited winding ,you get the least
reading across it by comparison.
