Inductive Reactance=WL=2PIFL=0,since f=0 for DC.So inductor
will act as short circuit for DC Supply.

When we give dc supply to
inductor it act as short
circuit.since inductive
reactance
XL=2.PI.F.L=0.(FOR dc
frequency=0)
Similarly for dc supply
capacitor act as open.
Because
XC=1/2.PI.F.C=1/0=infinite.

rectifiers to get smoother DC output.It is for reducing the
