the basic of a DP flow transmitter are the following
Answer / bunny
DP stands for differential pressure.i.e,we will have a high
pressure and a low pressure.DP=HP-LP.The idea is we will
create a differential pressure in the flow line(by using a
orifice plate, for example) were which the flow has to be
measured and will measure this DP which is proportional to
flow.For that,2 pressure taping will be taken(for HP &
LP)and it is connected to the the HP & LP connection slot of
the DP transmitter through a manifold valve. The DP
transmitter will convert these DP signal to (4-20)mA range
and send to the controller.
