Over load relay is setting normaly at 100% of rated
current, also we can set at reduced current if load current
less and constant. Also overload relay have AUTO & MANUAL
Reset mode. ie in AUTO it get reset automatically with time
delay based on motor temprature reduction. Manual mode we
have to reset on every trip.

First we decide motor full load amphere(or name plate) and
take actual load amphere. If 3HP motor full load amphere is
4.5A but actual load is 3.0A so we set OLR rating 3.5A.

over load relay =1.5*full load current.example for 1 h.p
motor takes 1.5 Amp current so its overload relay is setted
at approximate on 2.5 amp

Why Transistors are not used as switching devices?
WHAT IS INERTIA,AND WAT IS TORQUE.
My question is whether bellow formula is correct to find bus size for 46kA for 0.5 second & what is RT in bellow formula. formula to calculate the size of busbar to withstand the thermal stresses due to currents with duration of 0.2 sec to 5 sec. Sp = RT( I x I x t) / K Where Sp – is the cross sectional area of bus bar in millimeters. I - is the value of AC fault current. t - is the operating time of disconnecting device in seconds. K – is the factor depending on the material of the conductor, insulation and initial and final temperature. Value of ‘k’ for copper is 143.
why are we adopting 132kv,220kv for transmission rather than using 440kv at all transmission lines as it gives lower losses?
What should be the percentage increase in length of the dead end clamp for bus bar conductor (Hawthorn) after hydraulic pressing and what should be the applied pressure?
