Online-there is no delay in delivery of power to the
connected load when the main fail(no interuption)
Offline-static transfer switch changes the connected load
from the AC mains to the UPS inverter out put This
changeover causes the connected load to lose power for a
few microsecond

On Line UPS- When the electric or main source supply or
input supply is present in a UPS ,it know as On line UPS.
Off Line UPS- When there is no i/p supply and load is
driven By battery source & by inverter system is know as
off line UPS.

The above answer is correct.In online UPS ,the schematic SLD
is:- main supply - charger-battery-inverter-load.Hence no
change over.In offload,supply to load is either from mains
or inverter when main supply mains, by change over.

Online Ups- 1.UPS static switch always on.
2.Ups static switch fail then the Main
static switch conduct.
3.Inverter always On condition.
Offline Ups-1.Main static switch is always on.
2.When the power supply off,the ups static
switch on and inverter are also ON the condition.
