A daemon is a process used to perform specific functionality
which runs in background for an application. They are
different for different processes. e.g. ssh, httpd, nfs etc.
NFS is Network File System used for sharing files through
network.
NIS is Network Information Server used to share application
remotely from another host. It is used for centralization of
systems. e.g. DNS etc.
