in our home we connect mcb in paralal with load series with
main i/c when ther is ashort circuit at load side thermal
contact inside mcb will open and it tripped and give
protection again over load and short circuit condition

is short circuit or open circuit then mcb contacts will be
open and the circuit will trip.In this way it protects our
home appliances
