Separate the plates into 3 groups and each group consist of 3 plates
first take 2 group of plates & place it in two pans.
if two pans are equal then the difference is in 3rd group, so take that third group plates and place any two plates in each pans if there is no diff then the rest of the plate is the ans/- or else diff shown in weighing pan

hey .. the ques is wrong.. you have to specify wheather the
plate is havier or lighter.... then only it can be done
using weighing machine twice ..... or if you are not
mentioning that the odd one is heavier or lighter, means it
can either be heavier or lighter then you need to use the
machine atleast thrice..

divide into 3 plates each
weigh two groups of 3 plates each on either plate of the
balance...if the plates are in d same level it means the
plate of different weight is in the third group......so take
the third group of plates.....select any 2 and weigh
them...again if u get equal weights the different one can b
spotted easily, and if weights are unequal for sure you cab
identify too!
if the first 2 group of plates had different weights then u
can identify d plate of different weight in a group.....then
repeat the same procedure...take any 2 weigh and find out
