why the secondary winding of the transformer is not open circuited ?

I believe that the questioner meant to ask about Current Transformer where it will result in CT BURN OUT if the secondary is left open due to immense flux built up at the secondary. This is why the CT is built to operate in subtractive polarity which will cancel out the flux built from the primary on secondary.
Otherwise in a VT or in normal power transformer the secondary winding should never be shorted bcoz it will result in severe short circuit.which is very dangerous.
Hopes this answers your query.

I hope the question relates to current transformer. If the secondary is open circuited, the whole of the primary current will work as magnetising current.A dangerously high voltage will be induced in sec wdg bcoz the sec has large no of turns as compared to primary in CT.And this high voltage gives fatal shocks and for this reason secondary of CT must always be earthed.

In order to carry the load, secondary wdg should be closed
circuited.

Why electrical engineer use Cu Strip for transformer neutral why not GI Strip? What if we use GI instead of Cu does it affects the transformer performance.
my 10 hp submersible pump is tripping when connected through ELCB.I have checked the megger value of the coil's with body.It was found to be 0.2mega ohm.that is leakage is there. But when connected to mccb it is not tripping.no leakage current in the motor. Is it safe to connect to mccb? what are the problem's will arise if future?also tell me in ELCB no neutral is connected to motor.than how ELCB was working?
