Unit of capacitor is always in Farad, but here the role of
capacitor bank is reactive power compensation & we know that
the unit of reactive power is KVAR so how much compensation
that capacitor bank is providing is nothing but the KVAR
rating of that capacitor bank.

bcoz the capacitor banks only supply reactive power(kvar)to
the system. normally capacitor banks are used to maintain
p.f. of the system. and one important thing is capacitor
banks must be ON according to the load(if it is APFC,no problem)
