what is the function of potential transformer in s/s
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Answer / kadiresan
The Potential transformer is designed such that it reduces
the system voltage such as 3.3kV, 6.6kV, 11kV, 22kV, 110kV
whatever is used into less voltage of 110V. This 110V is
used for metering and protection such as Over Voltage, Under
Voltage, Over frequency, Under frequency, Distance
protection, Transformer differential protection.... etc., as
per the substation requirements. Since there are both Indoor
and Outdoor Substations....
