which generator is called as brushless excitation generator
and why??

Answer / elango k
self exicted generator is called brusless generator.
in this generator the rotor houses the field , where field
gets supply from small generator or permanent magnet
generator fixed in the rotor itself .when the rotor rotates
emf is build to exicte the field of main genrator. the
supply from the small generator is ac which is converted to
dc by diodes which is fixed in rotor this diodes is called
rotating diodes.
so there is no need for brushes to supply current or
collect current from field or armature.
so it is called self exicted brushless alternator

We can have a separately excited Generator as a Brushless excitation system also. For Ex we have static excitation system which do not have brushes.
Excitation can also be provided by using pilot and main exciter and incorporating a rotating rectifier and feeding a DC excitation to the Generator.

A Generator is in running condition and Rotor earth fault alarm is coming. How to check on line(i.e in running condition) whether there is actual earth fault in rotor or not.
Dear Friends, I have a 500KVA transformer supplying whole factory having 3 phase and single phase mixed loads. Power room has ammeters connected via CTs for individual phase. Now I know that readings shown on meter for each phase say R,Y and B are line currents. But when I want to know the total on transformer do I need to add the currents of all three phases readings shown on meter or value for anyone phase will give me the correct power load on transformer for that point of time. 2. If ammeter shows unbalanced readings for R,Y, B phases say 150, 250 and 300 respectively so can I assume that 150A i.e average of 3 will be the 3phase load currents and remaining will be 1phase currents. Please clarify my doubt.
