why the transmission side of the generating transformer is always star??..

Answer / mintuk1@gmail.com

For transmitting the power generating substation transformer should connect delta star for step up at high voltage also getting ground wire for reducing third harmonic current in transmission line.

why the transmission side of the generating transformer is always star??..

Answer / bhramit agarwal

bcoz ie is in star per phase voltage is 1/3^1/2 times the line voltage.so overall voltage decreases.and loss in a line is decreased.

why the transmission side of the generating transformer is always star??..

Answer / suresh apgenco

to provide path for third harmonic currents and as line
voltage is equal to phase voltage, size of the conductor
will reduce.
