vfd-variable frequency drive
as its name explains its function that by changing the
frequency of the power supply fed to the motor we can
change the speed of the motor as N=120f/p
where f is frequency
p-no. of poles
N- speed of motor
In vfd there are SCRs and the frequency can be changed by
controlling the firing angle of the SCRs.
VFD have alot of advantages over simple starter the bigest
one is energy saving.

VFD is for controlling the speed of the motor by adjusting
the frequency and voltage.
If voltage decreases frequency will decrease,if voltage
increases frequency will increase this is the general
principle as V/f ratio

The function of IGBT in VFDs is to chopp the DC voltage in
relation to original sine wave entering in the rectifier
section of the VFD. the switching speed of IGBTs is very
high as compared to Bipolar Transistors. Energy is saved in
VFDs by Affinity laws.

I have a current transformer with 1 main reading meter with transformer outside the building and a control panel having 5 CT reading meters with black round coils inside the building. I want to know, A) when current pass through the Transformers, will the current be reduced or be the same and after that B) when current pass through the CT meters with black round coils, will the current be reduced or be the same. C) in the above process will the reading of the main meter be same or different, from the total reading of all the 5 CT meters.
