Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback

why rating of transformer is in KVA but of motor is in KW..

Answer / krish

1)Transformer is an static device and original it has no PF(
when no load is connected to it),only real power is taken
into account,motors use both real and reactive power for
working so its rating is in KW

2)in transformer iron loss and copper loss is taken in
consideration so KVA is used

why rating of transformer is in KVA but of motor is in KW..

Answer / asmita

in a T/F Copper losses depends on Current & iron losses
depends on Voltage.T/F being a static device windage
& friction losses r nt present there.Therefore T/F rating
is always in KVA.

why rating of transformer is in KVA but of motor is in KW..

Answer / vinit tomar

both ratings are same

because
transformer can works on high voltage & current so we use the rating KVA =killo volt ampere

P=VI
here A is used to denote current in amperes
AND motors can works only low voltage
so we used rating for motors WATTS
P=VI watts
P=I.IR
