What is the diffrence between PS & metering CT (5p20,0.5
etc.)? Why in PS class CT only Vk is given ? Is PS class CT
is more accurate than metering CT?
Answer / gunasekaran
Ps class ct having high saturation point metering ct having low. Ps class using for special protection like diffrential Ref Busbar protection it is very less setting than metering.metering always working hgh setting means suppose 200/1 Ct is their rated load is 180A so ct secondry current is 0.9 so it is experince less burden. but Ps clss always working maximum 20% of setting so it experince very high burden so it must be designed for high saturation point
