WHY DOES LORRY TANKERS DESINGNED TO BE IN
SPHERICAL(CURVED,ROUND), WHY DOESNOT IT DESIGNED TO BE AS
SQUARE OR REACTANGLE IN SHAPE.

WHY DOES LORRY TANKERS DESINGNED TO BE IN SPHERICAL(CURVED,ROUND), WHY DOESNOT IT DESIGNED TO BE A..

Answer / arul - mz

For the stability of the vehicle at the time of taking
turns.

Usually, square sections induce toppling of the vehicle at
turns due to shift in the CG upside.

Compared to oval or round sections, using rectangular
sections we can bring the CG lower.

But the fabrication of cylindrical or oval tanks we can
reduce material cost and at the same time stress
concentration at the edges during turns will be negligible.

The quality of the welded joint in the circular section can
be judged better than the others

WHY DOES LORRY TANKERS DESINGNED TO BE IN SPHERICAL(CURVED,ROUND), WHY DOESNOT IT DESIGNED TO BE A..

Answer / snehangsu saha

if the tank is rectanguler or sequare, the materials trans
port in the tank is stagnant in korners so the materials
can be dammaged
the friction amount is also low in circuler tank.so it is
effective than sequare tank.
