Fieldbus (or field bus) is the name of a family of industrial computer network protocols used for real-time distributed control, now standardized as IEC 61158.
PROFIBUS (Process Field Bus) is a standard for field bus communication in automation technology.
The Profibus in his Process versiĆ³n (Profibus PA) is two wire (Twisted pair) for data and power.
fieldbus foundation is only for process (Mainly for instruments), Profibus is for process and automation (instruments, drives, I/O, motor controllers to PLC, PLC to PLC etc.).
