What is the need for modulation?
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
generally any signal at the time of transmission has a very low frequency due to this it can be attenuated or distorted or noise may be introduced with the signal , therefore signal gets attenuated. for this cause we use modulation , this will impress a carrier signal on the information signal and the data is transmitted with very less attenuation , as due to those effects carrier gets distorted and the signal is transmitted safely.

The message signal or baseband signal is used to modulate a
high frequency carrier signal inside the transmitter. After
modulation the resulting modulated signal is transmitted
by antenna.

The information to be communicated over long distance of the order of 200km then it is essential that waves is made of high frequency.the high frequency wave can not get attuniated & it travel very fast in space because of ionosphere. In order to transmit some information it is necessary to change condition or parameter modulation is needed.

Technically, Modulation is a process whr the amplitude/frequency/phase of the high freq carrier signal is varied in accordance with the instantaneous amplitude of the low frequency baseband signal(original information)is. The baseband signal is transmitted using the high freq carrier so tht:
# Anntena hieght get reduces
# Avoids mixing of signal
# Increases commntn range
# Multiplexing possible

Benefits of modulation(needs of modulation) are as follows:-
1)practicality of antenna.
2)To remove interference.
3)Increase the range of communication.
4)Allows adjustments in bandwidth.
5)Improves quality of reception.

modulation is scheme under which the the signal is first
modified to suitable form(compress or amplied)and mixwd
with the carrier for trassmission
BASIC NEED FOR MODULATION IS:
1.TO REDUCE ANTENNA HEIGHT
2.TRANSMIT THE INFORMATION TO MORE DISTANCE WITH OUT
INTERFERENCE
3.TO REDUCE BAND WIDTH
EX:SUPPOSE IF U WANT THROUGH A PAPER HAVING INFORMATION TO
YOUR OPP APPARTMENT FROM YOUR APPARTMENT(EX:D=500cm)IF U
SIMPLY THROUGH A PAPER IT WILL NEVER REACH TO THE OPP
APPARTMENT BUT IF YOU USE A STONE.i.e COMBINELY WE CAN
THROUGH BECAUSE STONE HAVE WEIGHT LIKE WISE CARRIER HAVE
MORE POWER THAN BASE SIGNAL THAN WE CAN TRANSMITE THE
SIGNAL.

1.modulation ensures secured transmission of modulation signals.
2. For long distances, the message signal can't be sent alone as loss of important details of message signal will take place. If the message signal is modulated with carrier signal in transmission, then it is capable of travelling long distances.
