How to check percentage of bulkage of sand in RCC?..

Answer / mahendra mohan srivastava

first we can weight sample of sand then we can take it to
SSd condition then we calculate moisture and if moisture is
6 % then bulkage will 30 % so we can put 6% less water and
30% execss sand after correction.if moisture will exess to
6 % then we will take less water equal to moisture and sand
will not exceed.

How to check percentage of bulkage of sand in RCC?..

Answer / rojas james

Bulkage of sand is used to determine the change in volume of sand when doing volume batching, when moisture is there in sand upto a limit the volume will increase then after saturation the volume will decrease so in volume batching if sand is having moisture the volume will be shown high than the actual and it can make the mix to segregation due to less Fine Aggregates
