During the transients in alternator, the mechanical power
input remains almost constant while the electrical power
output changes significantly.Why?
Answer / iamdon
The time constant of the turbine mass system is of order of
seconds(s) while the time constant of the electrical system
is of the order of milli second(ms). That is why during
transients, the mechanical power input remains almost

significantly.
