One Township having 850 house and each house load is 2.2KW
single phase & 5HP 3 Phase motors of 10 Nos .Who can
calculate 11 KV transformer
capacity .dilip_bhasker@yahoo.co.in

One Township having 850 house and each house load is 2.2KW single phase & 5HP 3 Phase motors o..

Answer / naresh

The total lighting load of the township is 1870KW and motor
load is 50HP.

We have to load the transformer upto 80percent of
its KVA rating. Because the average power factor has been
taken as 0.8 and to avoid the over loading problem.

So for the township the transformer capacity is as follows.
24x100KVA + 1x63KVA or 15x160KVA + 1x63KVA

Multiple transformers provided instead of few high
capacity transformers to avoid low voltage problem at tail
end.
