different between circuit breaker & switchgear & relays..

Answer / deepak

relay is a sensing element which senses the fault ant then sends a signal to circuit breaker.....

circuit breaker after receiving the signal from relay..trips and hence protects the apparatus/device to which it is connected

different between circuit breaker & switchgear & relays..

Answer / tareq harb

relay ca be used to protect against one fault at a time
either overcurrent or undervoltage or underfrequency but
not together, can also be used in switching & control
systems.

Breakers can be used to protect againt too many abnormal
faults in the circuit at one time.

switch gear is a series breakers connected to gether to
form a complete protected bus bar with many inputs outputs.

different between circuit breaker & switchgear & relays..

Answer / amol payghan

Relay is used to detect the fault condition and initiate the operation of the circuit breaker.

Circuit beaker is used to disconnect/isolate the faulty circuit from the bus bar system.

Switchgear are the apparatus used for switching, controlling and protecting the electrical circuit and equipements

Answer / maheskumar

relay is an protecting device it protect only an particular
connected line

circuit breaker mostly used in transmission so it protect
against high voltage line any fault contition circuit
breaker trip the line and protect the device

switch gear it can be used to prodectbusbar with many input
and outputs

Answer / gajraj

circuit breaker means is the mechanical part, which is
oprated on rely pulse when your fault current is more than
the setting of the relay that time relay sent to pulse of
circuit breaker trip coil
that time operate the breaker that means no any relation in
circuit braeker & relay
