Gypsum is a mineral. it is name in chemical is calcium
sulphate.Mainly it control setting time of cement.
generally it pecrentage 3%. Excess gypsum slow the setting
time. is not link with strength

there is many type of gypsum like type 1, and type 2 which is recommened for hot weather .

dont think it will have a effect on the strength. But it
will slow the setting(hardening) time of the concrete.

5% would be the perfect amount to add on concrete. it adds
compressive strength thus maintaining its hydration.
