what is the difference between current rating and breaking
current of an MCCB? and for a known load how to calculate
the current rating of a MCCB?

Answer

current rating is the mccb degining current, breaking
current is the permissible limit of current.
for example; mccb rating is 30A; breaking current is 32A at
particular time.
