If PGI is not possible for one sales order. what are
mandatory things we have to chck?


Answer

If system not allowing to do PGi for particular sales
order, it means that PGI will be restricted for certain
scenarios or control parameters are define.

1) Credit check- u need to check credit which not allowing
u to do PGI.
2) U need to check material confirmation during sales
order, ex- check scheduline tab of sales order document and
check whether material is confirmed for particular period
of time. Here u need to do delivery on material
confirmation date.
3)If delivery quantity maintained more then sales order
quantity
4) Account assignment/account determination configuration
missing.

what is mean by make to order and make to stock in

Hi,

Availability check can be carried out during sales order
processing and delivery for an item and also it creates MRP
record and passes them into Material requirement planning,.

Make To Order- In general, Production take place to
fullfill order for example here order come first based on
that order company will produce material. For example
public sector organization give order of like elecrical or
electronic equipment require for medical purpose. once
company get order or contract or tender it will start to
producing those material.

Make To Stock (in general) where company producing material
to stock and sell those material. example here company will
produce and keep in storage location or maintain inventory
or stock and whenver it will get order from client they
will ssell it from stock or inventory.

Strategy group, will be used as an alternative to MRP
group.

To know link of Availability check with MTO & MTS you
should first understand the function of availability check.
This will be carried out from requiremnet class and
checking group and checking rule.

Where checking group determine or effect on Daily
requirement, Individual requirement, RLT-Replishment Lead
Time and Current stock these all are link or integrated to
MTO & MTS. this is the integration of SD-MM-PP.

Hi,

Ans to ur 1st question WHAT IS YOUR ROLE IN SUPPORT
PROJECT? Your main role is to resolve ticket/issue/bug
which is raise by ur end user or super user when they have
problem in processing any transaction or business process.
sap consultant should solve within prescribed SLA like
depend upon sevirioty of the ticket, companies and client
set the time limit for ticket resolving at the time of
implementation or start support project.

Ans to ur 2nd question HOW WILL U GET THE REQUEST NO? the
issue no is recognized by its request no that will be
generated by ur third party tool. Most of the company will
use tool from which user can log his/her issue. the tool
could be alliance tool, remedy, ovsd-overview service help
desk etc. thse tools help to both side to know the status
of issue whether it is proposed to solve or not or pending
or waiting for info or work in progress.The moment u
receive or assign ticket urself the work clock start to
count timing to resolve. based on this, the company
generate bill to client for his/her services. these toolls
managemnet to extract report of pending issues and closed
issues based on that they plan employees work. lot can be
analyse from this tool.
But very few company not using tools they just use outlook
express and receive ticket by mail.

Ans to ur 3rd question WHO WILL RAISE THAT NO? Example if u
create new customer/vendor in sap system and wen u will
save the document system automatically generate the
customer/vendor no'. in same way as i told about above
tools wen end user raise ticket/issue by login in tool from
his/her id and type there issue details and saves the
document once he/she save tool generate request id no and
it will send to support team and also this ticket will go
to his/her outlook express too in the form of mail
automatically.

Ans to ur 4th question AFTER RESOLVING THE TICKET WHAT IS
THE NEXT PROCEDURE? & WHO WILL TRANSFER THAT? after
resolving issue he/she will test this solution in
development server and quality server and save screen shot
of results. and move request from development server with
help basis (as raviraj explained first to this question) in
SE09 or SE10. consultant can release request in SE09 or
SE10 and basis consultant will release developemnt to
quality server, once it release to quality server he/she
will do testing whether this issue is giving result as per
client requirement. once he tested successfully he/she will
mainatain testing completion documents and again he will
move request from quality server to production server with
help of basis consultant but in this stage to move request
from quality to production basis consulytant require all
supporting documnets like mails, request no, screen shot
and approval from onsite/offshor co-ordinator only then
this will be moving to production.
once ot done end user check in production server that ke
its working fine then he will login in support tool (as he
logined for raise ticket) and close the issue from his/her
id * password.

Please explain the purpose and configuration of Partner
Determination. I was asked this question in an interview. I
get confused in partner function, partner type, account
assignment, partner procedure etc etc. I would be grateful
to you people if you can clear my basic concepts on this

Partner Determination; Partners such as the sold to party,
bill to party, payer, etc. are necessary in the majority of
document processing. Automatic partner determination
happens in the sales documents,delivery documents, and
billing documents, as well as in sales activities and the
customer master record.

PARTNER FUNCTION: are diffrent partner for which you are
creating customer master record in xd01 like Sold to party,
ship to party, bill to party, payer & special stock partner
(which is used for consignment business process).

PARTNER TYPE: could be customer or vendor or plant,
shipping point (for more information go to VOPA tcode)
ACCOUNT ASSIGNMENT & PARTNER PROCEDURE: is to assign each
partner function to it role and and assign to account group
and assign to how these partner function perform in
customer master record.

Hi,

Cross function of sd means nothing but integration of SD
with other module like SD-MM, SD-FI, SD-PP.
Here u need to answer about where sd is integrated with
other module.
For example, while creating sales order system will pick up
material master data/details which integrated of SD with MM.
And while processing sales order to delivery system check
MRP and availability which is integrated with MM & PP.
While generating billing system post entries in different
G/L accounts and update accounting data that will
integration with FI module.
and while customer making payment sd integrated with FI
module.

Cross function and Integration is same thing Ia guess
interviewer confused you.

But cross application is different, for that u need to refer
SAP Help.

Hi,

here functional & technical consultant actual start
configuration as per blue print.

Firstly they will do BASE LINE CONFIGURATION like here,
consultant will do basic configuration module wise like sd
consultant configure only sd part (without integration)

Secondly he will do FINAL CONFIGURATION here he will
configure which is integrated to other module like if he is
sd consultant he will to sd integration with mm and fi and
configure different business process like, order to cash,
factory sales, depo sales, consignment, rush order, MTO,
third party etc as per Business blue print.

And finally he will prepare test case & testin script & do
testing, like unit testing, integration testing, regression
testing etc

& getting signoff for all the documents

Hi,

Here requirement in the sence, client specification mapping
in SAP software.

In Business Blue Print (BPP) stage, specific (SD, MM, FI/CO
etc..) consultant collecting requirement from client. like
business process, organizational elements, pricing
structure of sale etc. These requirement are collecting in
the form of QADB (question answer databas). Here (in QADB)
consultant mapping few question and core user answer those
question and based on answer provided by core user
consultants map BBP.
Example for QADB is---


Q: Describe your quotation process in detail.

A: Quotations are used for institutional sales and exports.


Q: What texts are required on a quotation?

A: To be finalised.


Q: Which information (for example, prices) is passed to
subsequent documents?

A: Prices, payment terms, inco terms.


Q: Are there any time agreements that are relevant to
quotations (for example, delivery time, commitment dates,
validity periods)?

A: Validity period exists for institutional sales and
exports.


Q: Do you pass requirements to MRP for quotations?

A: No.


Q: Do you want to assign order probabilities to quotations?

A: Yes.

Based on above answer consultant mapping BBP.
Note: Here u need to prepare QADB for each element and for
each business process.

CHANGE REQUEST: Once BBP is ready it has to send to change
management commitee to change or update and finalize BBP.

This request is send by core user to consultant to update
or change as per their requirement and later they freez and
get sign off.

1) Here u need to tell the ticket or issue which u solved
recently or previously, it could be anything like (A)ONE
SALES ORDER CREATED AND FRIEGHT CONDITION IS MAINTAIN OR
CONFIGURE MANUALLY.
HERE EXAMPLE SALES ORDER NO 1234 IS CREATED AND DELIVERED
AND INVOICED BUT THEY FORGOT TO MAINTAIN FRIEGHT CHARGES,
INTHIS CASE HOW U SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.
(B) SALES ORDER NO 5678 IS REJECTED BUT STILL SHOWING IN
OPEN SALES ORDER LIST,
it could be anything else, issues are normally the nduser

INTHIS CASE HOW U SOLVE THIS PROBLEM.

Ans: First of you should know when you maintain frieght
charges like during sales order or shipment.

Here you have two options one is you need to create credit
memo request (frieght charges) or

You can cancell billing document and reverse shipment and
then re process shipment with frieght charges and process
billing.

In v/08 what is the significance of assigning pricing type
like carry out new pricing etc.

Hi,

Basically we are doing settings in v/08.
In sales order you can view pricing at item level at header
level.

If u set this as CARRY OUT NEW PRICING/MANUALLY PRICING CAN
BE CHANGE system will allow you to carryout new price at
item level and at header level for particular sales document
type like OR, from this setting end user can update new
price for that material during sales order processing and
there by system allows you to calculate pricing as per new
price which is changed or updated. if you doesnt set this
setting or you set as PRICING CANNOT BE CHANGED OR MANUALLY
UPDATED in v/08 t-code than system does not allow you to
carryout new pricing for particular sales order.
