Question { 2405 }

What is the electrical difference between Earthing Switch (ES)
and Maintenance Earthing Switch (MES)?

Answer

The first one is for lines and the other is for the station

Is This Answer Correct ?    0 Yes 0 No

Question { Vestas, 3144 }

Dear sir,
I am working in wind mill division , pls explain

Pls explain in details with formula
My question is

Wind speed 3.5 M/s Gen RPM
is 1500 ( 25 K/w Production )

Wind speed 12 M/s Gen RPM
is 1500 ( 220 K/w Production )

Why in 3.5 m/s generation was low , why in 12 m/s
generation was high ,
Pls dont explain wind force or wind density , that one
already i know

For the above question RPM was same why the KW was
different

Answer : 1. Its depends on the density ( Force ) of the air

Sir ,
Pls explain wit Formula sir

Answer

The gen speed has to be the same to maintain the
frequency.At higher wind speed wind-mill receives more power
from wind and hence the higher output.

Question { 4419 }

what is the use of providing earthing for tanks? i know for
lightning we use earthing ? Here one of my ONGC project
there is no need of lightning protection and there is no
power connection near by tank in that situation also ONGC
asking earthing for tanks but we didn't understanding why
they asking earthing? is anybody tell exact answer?

Question { Engro, 7145 }

What will be happend if we not ground CT secondary?

Answer

One terminal of secondary of CT is earthed to remove the
influence of high voltage of primary on secondary due to
inherent capacitance between them .

Question { 4626 }

why two contacts(in series) are using in closing circuit

Answer

You mean 2 contacts are made in series in a MCB? That is to
make doubly sure of opening the circuit.If parallel ,it is
to make closing doubly sure ,as you can expect one of the
contacts to open or close definitely .

Question { Jindal, 5433 }

In a 3 phase induction motor(without connecting supply) if we
rotate its rotor by hand and check resistance of stator
winding at motor terminal box its resistance varies why ??

Answer

Probably due to the voltage induced by residual magnetism of
the rotor
