Pf is the co sine angle between voltage & current,it depends on kind of load ,if the angle is more gen "ll hv more current(actual +reactive current) un necesserily(kvar),which means same load more current,causes overheating of d/g,in case of comparatively less load over current trip will occur.

Why tripping not occur when the transmission breaks? Doesn't we provide earthfault protection for it?
