the distance from my office to d.g is aprox 400mtrs and voltage drops ibn my office near about 40 ..

Answer / sabale.dnyanehswar@gmail.com

IF U ASKING ABT DC Voltage then ans is
1. u have to increase the sq.mm size of the cable. i.e if
u r laid cable size is 16 sq.mm. u can go to 25 sq.mm.
2. u have to increase u r battery Amphour rating . by
replacing it with higher rating.

if u asking abt AC voltage:
1. check the DG set terminal voltage if voltage is not
proper then check at AVR terminal. if there also not ok.
then check it with another AVR card.
2. if AVR is OK then check any leakage of cable with taking
megger & continuty with earth.
3. if problem is found in cable then replace with new one
or increase the rating of cable.
if everythink is ok. then take voltage at receiver end with
out load. one by one increase the load at every time
voltage reading. if found prob. in another ckt. rectify it.
The range should be +- 5% should be accepted.

Answer / amit chaudhary

You should check the cable size which you are using from
your office to DG set. May it will need to increase the size
of cable.
If you are not using this DG set for another purpose then
you can increase the generator voltage by AVR to get the
suitable voltage in your office.
If the cable is heated during the load then you will have to
increase the cable size.

Above all answers are right but one more we can do is to
add capacitor at load end to increase the voltage.

1. A 380 / 220 V r.m.s. 3-phase 4-wire circuit carries loads of 8 + j8.1 ohm; 4 + j4.1 ohm; and 2 +j2.1 ohmin the three phases respectively. The length of the circuit is 100 m, and the resistivity of the phase conductors is 0.0005 Ω/m. The neutral conductor is of the same size as the phase conductors. a) Select a reference angle 0for the first phase. Then write down the three phase voltages in both polar format and complex number format. b) Make appropriate assumptions, and take temperature effects on resistance is insignificant. Calculate the currents in the three phases. (Note: Determine conductor resistance, and apply Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law) Based on the result, suggest a main switch rating for the circuit. c) Show your preferred direction of neutral current in a diagram, and then determine its value. (Note: Apply superposition principle, and Kirchhoff’s Current Law) Use its magnitude to show that in this circuit, the unbalanced load may increase the voltage drop in some of the phases. (Note: Also observe the common volt drip in neutral) State your assumptions, if there are any. d) Suddenly the neutral wire of the circuit is broken. Estimate the new currents in the first phase, i.e. Phase L1. State your assumptions, if there are any.
