step-down,transmmision or distribution, power or
instrument ), Cooling system of transformer ( oil cooled,
air cooled, Forced air cooled),As per phase disign( single
phase or Three phase), according connection(delta/star or
delta/delta), According load in KVA

application,use and Rating. The rating Is generally in Kv
for distribution Transformers and in MVA and Kv class
rating for Power Transformers.
The Transformers are also Classifed as
Three Phase , Single Phase Transformers
