What is the diffrece between CAPACITOR BANK & CAPACITOR OF
MOTOR?

Answer / badmalia rajesh
Actully capacitor bank is used for power system power
factor improvement. that contains theree capacitor of large
capacity conneted in either star or in delta connection.
While capacitor used in motor is not of that moch big
capacity the used for starting of single phase induction
motor and for their quit operation. The capacitor used in
motor is generally single phase.

Answer / er.gurpreet singh
capacitor bank is used in generating plants to provide a
leading reactive power current for improving the power
factor while the capacitor is used in starting of single
phase induction motors by splitting the single phase into
two differnt phases and providing a starting torque.

Answer / sanjana singh
capacitor bank is used for power factor improvement.and the capacitor is used to start single phase motor because the emf induced in single phase motor winding's (auxiliary & main)is equal and have opposite polarity so resultant emf is 0. so a capacitor is used for providing phase difference b/w emf.
