PIR -preinsertion resistor. It is connected in parallel to
the main interrupter which in series connects the PIR at the
time of beginning of opening of contacts to limit the
current to be interrupted. The PIR is in parallel with
contacts when the breaker is closed,in series at start of
opening and completely disconnected after opening.

PIR is used for safe handling of the transients in EHV
switching operations. PIR will be active only for few milli
seconds during switching after which it will be out of
circuit

Consider a case that two 200 hp motors are connected to 500KVA transformer. For improving power factor can we add capacitors in common bus bars to motors. Or should we add capacitors for each individual motor?
why we need of power factor correction? give advantages
Why DG self motor winding burnt out?
We have a distribution transformer of 750KVA/11kv/440v and an AVR (Servo Stabilizer) of 750KVA on the LT side of distribution transformer. Also we have an ACB of 1200A on the output of distribution transformer (that is on the input of AVR). We want to have an MCCB on the output of AVR. What should be the rating?
what will happen if the connections of protection ct reverse? will it burn the ct?
Hi Recently I got one formula that is Impedence of Xformer = Rated KVA/Root 3 * secondry voltage OF Xformer. Is it Right??????
It is being often experienced that due to single phasing fault of any source transmission line of any closed loop synchronized circuit all the power transformers with primary stared trips but the power transformer with primary delta wont, why ?
What are formula we can apply to determine the HT/LT current of 11KV/433V transformer except KVA/LV×√3. ?
What are differences between Conventional & Addressable type smoke detectors?
What is the dependency of stiffness on load angle??
Actually I have a doubt on neutral and earth.we use Ac power without taking neutral by connecting to earth, but at that time does it affects on efficiency of any electrical components or no? If yes how?
why Transformers power mentioned in KVA?. and why Generators and Motors power mentioned in KW?.
