-Brayton cycle is the ideal cycle for gas power turbines.

In Brayton cycle Heat Addition take place at constant pressure, whereas in Otto cycle Heat Addition take place at constant volume.

Otto cycle:here heat addition
and rejection takes place at
constant volume.so it is called
constant volume process.it is
used in petrol engine
whereas in Brayton cycle:heat
addition and rejection takes
at constant pressure.so it is
called constant pressure
process.it is used in
gasturbines,turboprop and
turbojet engines.it is having
greater efficiency than otto
cycle
