most of cruise ships use NGR (Neutral Grounding Resistor)
connected from the star point of the generators to the hull
of the ship, so the ship is a giant grounding electrode

neutral is connected to the body of aircraft/ship.so body
is considered as earth for sensing earth fault

ONboard ship they use insulated neutral system ie the neutral is not having a 4th cable thats grounds it.hence the distribution system is 3 phase 3 wire system instead of 3 ph 4 wire as in shore systems

i think aeroplanes earthing provid by using air. Beacase
air can act as a conductor.ships earthed by using sea
water. beacase water is a conductor.
