If T.G set is running on synchronus speed and turbine is
triped on low steam pressure or some other resion, The
Generator will take the power from system instated of
giving and Generator will work as Motor, that will harmful
to Turbine blades.for avoiding this reverse power
protection are used to stop the Generator.

The gemneraTor wiLL start behaving as motor, & will consume
power instead of generating.
But will simply stop if it has a reverse power protection
system.

The Generator will run still since there some steam trapped
in Turbine. This suitation is called Low Forward Power since
there is not enough Steam to run the Generator in desired
speed. This occurs because of some trapped steam in turbine
for some seconds. Now Days special vents doors are designed
in turbine to release these steam on account of tripping of
turbines
But Normally in protection Trip Logic of Generators there
will be Class:A,Class:B,Class:C
For Class A Gen Breaker will trip for below faults
U/V Stage-2 , O/V , Low Forward Power,Reverse Reactive
power,Neg Ph Seq ,Over Voltage
For Class B Turbine Breaker will Trip which also trip Gen
breaker instantly for below faults
Differential protection , Restricted Earth Fault .....
For Class C Grid Breaker will trip for below faults
Over Frequency and Under Frequency Under Voltage stage-1
and Over voltage
Because when you trip Gen Breaker for Undervoltage it will
result in whole plant black out so for stage-1 tripping of
grid breaker will do
similarly for All turbine faults the Gen Breaker is tripped
so that it is isolated from the system

TURBINE RUNNING IN SOLO MODE. if turbine trip at that time
generator also trip. due to under frequency, under
voltage,and 86T WILL TRIP TO 86G.
TURBINE RUNNING IN PARRALAL MODE GENERATOR TRIP TO RPR
PROTECTION

When Turbine trips, the dc excitation voltage which is
applied to the rotor through slip ring also trips,so no
excitation was there in the rotor means no flux cutting in
the stator. So generating voltage will be zero. So it will
nither act as generator nor as a motor. Its simply rotate &
due to moment of inertia,it will come to zero in short time.
