if u want to impress the customer then u have to follow
some basic ground rules of customer service. They are,
1)listen to customer carefully(active listening).
2)dont let the customer to repeat thngs.
3)give correct and accurate information to the customer.
4)be confident and ask if customer needs more help from u
so he/she don't need to call back.
5)build a rapport with the customer.
6)dont ever give wrong information to impress the customer.

your best.. you should put yourself in there situation so
that you know how they feel especially if they are irate.If
they are not satisfied with your service that would make
them irate/mad(most of thema)

resolved or escalated to next level.
