the pic micro controller have internal oscillator but why
we use external oscillator

Answer / ravi pailoor
The Internal oscillator is accurate to 5% where as the
external crystal oscillator can be more accurate. Crystal
oscillator is used for precise timing application. The newer
PICmicro have internal oscillator that are 1% accurate.
The internal oscillator is typically 4 or 8 MHZ maximum. If
you need higher frequency, say 10 MHz, then the external
oscillator need to be used.

external oscillator is more stable than internal.
that is the reason.
in 18f series, we can use up to 64khz internal
oscillator..so that mentioned in last post is not completely
correct.

Answer / shankar
internal oscillator uses resistor and capacitor which may be affected by temperature so that it could not provide stable frequency also its limited to 8mhz. where as external oscillator(crystal) are stable and not limited to 8mhz .

PIC microcontroller has an internal oscillator, but has no
self excitation capability. So we exite it by a crystal
oscillator outside.

we interface with one transmitter and reciver internal
oscillator is enough but we communicate with more than two
or three transmitter and reciver we need external oscillator
