why ammeter always connect in series for measuring the
current?
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
An Ammeter Measures the amount of current flowing through
its coil, So the whole current to pass through it, it
should be connected in series with circuit.

Answer / lucky singla
there are two reasons for it
1- when ammeter is connected in series ,the amount of
current flows through it & electrical appliance will be
same because in series current is same
2-in series the ammeter offers less resistance &we also
know that the resistance of an ideal ammeter is 0

IF ITS IN PARALLEL THE CURRENT WILL BE DIVIDED.SO ITS USED
IN SERIES.

Answer / sandy
As we want to measure the current we have to place a low
resistance path in the circuit which energies the coil and
shows the actual current flow.

Because the Current is same in the Series, Varies in the
parllel, So, If we connect the Ammeter in parallel the
consuming current is perfect.

Answer / jay desai
because current is always measured by connecting measuring instrument in series by assuming the internal resistance of the instrument zero....

Answer / tarun aggarwal ymca
we place ammeter in series because as it sas low resistance
if it is conneceted parallel whole resistance become low and
current become high in ckt and reading become false so we
connect it in series

Answer / shantan kumar.r
An ammeter has a very low input resistance. If it is
connected in parallel with a circuit element such as a
resistor or a capacitor, it is the same as placing a very
low resistor in parallel with the component across which is
paralleled. So,..
