To prevent double counting on multi fact/multi grain queries we need determinants on query subjects that have multiple level of granularity used to aggregate facts.

Determinents are new concept introduced in cognos 8 this is
used to avoiding double counting in framework
manager.......suppose if the data existing more time in
tables at that time we go for determinents(avoiding
duplicates)
