What is the air flow rate at suction, if impeller of dia
1500mm and it consists of 8 no's vane, running at 1500 rpm?
Dia of suction pipe is 500mm.
Answer / gurmeet singh
The air flow rate at suction pipe is= (Area of suction pipe)
*(Velocity of air at suction pipe)
We know that area of suction pipe = pie/4 * D*D
Where D= 500 mm
So area of suction pipe = 196250 mm2
Know we have to assume that velocity at suction pipe ens is
just equal to the velocity in impeller.
Velocity of impeller= pie*D*N/60
= 117750 mm/sec
So air flow rate = 196250*117750
= 23108437500 mm3/sec
